A video on the installation of a catch can by Elite Engineering on my new Camaro.
Before I even bought my new Camaro, I was aware of the the problems of Direct Injection.
Unfortunately clean air IS NOT the only thing that goes into the intake of any modern car. Emissions regulations are to thank for that. Some exhaust and engine fumes/oil mist is routed back into the intake of any newer gasoline engine car. On a conventional (port injection) car this isn’t an issue. On a conventional modern car- the fuel injectors are ABOVE the intake valves- literally SHOWERING them clean. On a direct injection car- they are AFTER the intake valves and inside the cylinder like the spark plug. This is bad because the oil mist and exhaust that is mixed into the intake is not cleaned off of the intake valves eventually resulting in deposits and reduced performance.
